Etsy Olde World Charm

Marie Antoinette Lavender Mint Pumps by OxfordHeaven. Aren't these shoes gorgeous!? A little piece of artwork for your feet!

I love items that look like they have been transported from another time! All of these items will make you think of Queens and Explorers; of palaces and old ruins; of ships and telescopes...

Vintage Sepia Replogle 12 in Globe with Wood Base from thesundaytimesmarket. I have always wanted an antique globe- it would be interesting to see just how much the world has changed!

. The craftsmanship on this quilt is amazing! I could only imagine how long it must have taken- and how long it would have taken to gain the experience and skills needed to produce such beautiful work!

Shagpile on Etsy

Yesterday, Andria, from Shagpile blog featured the Penelope Red Barcelona Corset in her blog.

I noticed that Andria has some lovely things for sale on her Shagpile Etsy store too, and I wanted to bring a few items to your attention. The above photo is Fabric and Felt Oval Brooch No.1

I love her sense of colour and prints- it reminds me of my own! A little over the top, a little unexpected, and bright and colourful!
The item above is the Textile Art Necklace No.7

Wednesday is Accessory Day! Stunning Brooches

Zipper Pin white/black by Kate Cusack

I love a good brooch! If you have seen my latest collection of designs, featured on the Penelope Red website, you will notice brooches featured there....

A good brooch can dress up any outfit, and make an otherwise normal top, look dramatic, or quirky or stand out from the rest.

Aren't these zipper pins so interesting and gorgeous?! So much creativity!

This butterfly brooch is simply stunning! So delicate!

Peacocks have always been a fascination of mine! I have always loved them, so this brooch has naturally drawn my attention.

Besides Etsy, another great way to find brooches is to visit your local markets.

I bought the above brooch from Angus and Celeste at a local market, and it has become one of my favourites!

I also frequently visit the local school car boot sales. It is a fun way to get out of the house, enjoy the sunshine, and maybe grab a bargain! I bought the next two brooches from the local car boot sale.

It is time to start wearing those brooches more often- keep them in a convinient place, so when you get ready to go out, you don't have to go searching for them. It is just another way to add a little bit of glamour to your everyday!
